Light Up your Bathroom Lifestyle

Catherine Dove • Jul 24, 2017

Do you consider lighting when you’re planning to re design your bathroom?

Lighting is a key part of any room in your home and certainly features highly in our showroom. At Options Studio we know what a huge difference stylish yet practical lighting can make to your bathroom experience, so we have spent years ensuring that innovative and unique bathroom lighting is an area that our team thrive within. We are constantly coming up with lighting solutions for customers who have no idea how much choice they have, so we’ve brought a few of our projects together to inspire you.

Cabinet lighting is practical as well as stylish! Check out the above cabinet with impressive light strips from each edge, no matter if the cabinet is open or closed! Perfect for opening and closing the cabinet for applying make-up or shaving. We love the modernity of light strips within mirrored cabinets, but we also can’t get over how quirky and original light dots look on bathroom cabinets (see below). You would feel like a celebrity every time you got ready in the morning!

If we’re talking about feeling like a celebrity, a backlit mirror is what you really need! Get the perfect lighting for feeling perfect. Our mirrored lights can come in all shapes and sizes, so whatever works best with your interior, our team will be on the case to create the perfect mirror.

Embedded lighting is a subtle yet innovative and effective way to add ambience and character to your bathroom. For instance, this quirky backdrop behind this wall hung toilet (above) forms a 'floating wall', featuring with cleverly designed lighting behind. Giving the illusion of a ‘secret door’ that could open if you touched the flush plate, it also compliments the tiling, making this small cloakroom appear larger than reality.

Although we’ve focused on white lighting so far, that doesn’t mean you’re limited to one colour. Why not try the gorgeous ambience of warm gold lighting, which looks great combined with brown and cream bathrooms, particularly bringing out brass and gold plated accessories... or go crazy! We adore this versatile under-cabinet multi-coloured lighting, which you can change up depending on how you are feeling. Fancy a calm blue while bathing? Or feeling pumped up before an evening out and want an exciting bright pink vibe? The choice is yours!

Floor lighting can improve your bathroom dramatically, making the floor space look more spacious and the whole bathroom lighter and clearer. In the bathroom above, the lights set into the bath bounce onto the floor and reflect into the mirror which cascades the light into the whole area. This is created without using any lights in the ceiling allowing you to have the right balance of lighting without the room being too bright.

Whether you would opt for a darker, more textured floor tile (above) that draws attention to the stunning beams of light, or a lighter, smoother flooring which would glisten beautifully with floor lights, they are always something to consider.

We hope that these photos have inspired you, but don’t think that’s all we’ve got to offer! With such an overwhelmingly varied choice of creative and innovative bathroom solutions, let our expert team help you find an unparalleled combination of lighting and bathroom style that will make all your friends jealous… Give us a call on 01344 627500 or drop us an email at sales@optionsstudio.co.uk.

For those who no longer wish to meet with designers in person or visit our showroom, we have created a new three-step design process which ensures you can achieve your dream bathroom without leaving your home. We feel it is important in bathroom projects that communication is clear and consistent, so that we can create the most gorgeous and suitable room for your needs and tastes. So that is why our new virtual design process has been cultivated to ensure that you are aware of all the options available to you and the choices we recommend at all times. Step One We have a new form on our website where you can send in images of your current room, including sizes and dimensions. When we receive your images, we will give you a call to discuss your requirements and what you hope to achieve from the room. Step Two Then, we'll get to work drawing up your new design using our CAD software. Step Three When your design is complete, we will give you a call to arrange a time when you can be sat in front of a suitable device; a desktop, laptop or tablet, where you can easily view the designs. During the arranged call, we will email you the images we have created, and we will discuss what we have designed, how we've designed it and how you feel about it. Then, when you're ready, we'll switch to video and give you a tour of our showroom , explaining what we have here and discussing things in further detail. Once we've come to the necessary decisions, we'll make a plan for the next step. Follow our Instagram ( @optionsbathtile ) to keep up-to-date on our latest designs, and to hear Steve talk through our design process! Ready to begin your project? We're delighted to say that as of today both our bathroom and tile showrooms have re-opened to the public. Safe to say we are following the latest government guidance closely and as such we recommend contacting us to arrange an appointment to come in. We look forward to seeing you soon. Contact us to book an appointment or discuss our virtual design service.
